Boiling Point

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts. ---Abraham Lincoln

Denounce Media Character Assassination

This is an outrage. Words taken out of context. There really needs to be a concerted effort by the FCC to quelch such outrageous character assasination from the media that sensationalizes controversy for ratings and engaging in defamation.

This is the September 11 speech by Rev. Wright IN CONTEXT!

If this is unpatriotic then one has a problem. A problem of delusion.

Call the tv stations and demand honest and fair journalism. If not, your character could also be assasinated.

Guilt By Association

This is politics. It is what it is, it can't be what it ain't. In this day and age of you tube, cable tv and text messaging, politics has elevated into something quite frightening. It is like a dark cloud, over a treacherous road that few people dare walk.

Politics in America has become a dirty word, a curse word, a hateful word, a word that is no longer seen as a call to public service, but rather as a call to public division. As I watched the MSM question United States Senator, Barack Obama because of his association with a minister who has uttered fire and brimstone comments as well as hateful rants I couldn't help but perceive an almost maniacal attempt of the media to box the Senator and paint him in the picture they are most comfortable with, "the angry black man."

This is the politics of guilt by association. The same politics that was used on JFK and his catholicism in a time of intense hate towards that group. A politics that was used against John McCain in 2000, and on John Kerry in 2004. The one thing that is alarming in this entire fiasco is America's willingness to respond to this negativity. We complain about our leaders being inept and yet we destroy those who want to do something about it. We complain about the cost of living in America, yet we respond to guilt by association allegations on politicians who want to change it. I have publicly and privately made the assertion that we live in a very hypocritical society. We say we don't support divisive things such as these, however we respond to it. WE RESPOND to the same division that has put us on the brink of economic collapse and foreign policy disaster.

Today I had to pay $3.70 for a gallon of gas today, I got home expecting someone to tell me why I was paying this amount of gas, but instead I heard guilt by association allegations against Senator Obama. I hoped I would hear someone explain how my mom could keep her house, but instead I heard guilt by association allegations. I hoped someone would tell me why the DOW keeps plunging day after day, but instead I hear these other distractions.

Guilt by association against John McCain, Hillary Clinton and now Senator Obama. However no one has ever come out with any documented evidence that these politicians think the way their questionable associations do. Senator Obama has written 2 books of which I received no hint of an angry black man. I have scoured through his 11 year record, and nowhere do I see an angry black man's record. Same goes for Senators McCain and Clinton.

We must remember the words of Ghandi through these periods. In the case of Senator Obama and Senator McCain this following statement couldn't be more true. "FIRST THEY IGNORE YOU, THEN THEY LAUGH AT YOU, THEN THEY FIGHT YOU, THEN YOU WIN" Senator Obama is currently being fought, but lets hope he wins against the politics of guilt by association.

Ashley Alexander Dupre

I am not playing devil's advocate, yes I am a God-fearing person and unashamed of it. However the vitrol i just witnessed on Ashley AKA Kristen's myspace page is beyond comprehension. This country is truly unique in its desire to destroy people emotionally and psychologically. Initially I really did not care all that much for this woman for engaging in her line of work (prostitution) and still don't care. But I have to say to use derogatory comments and shameful assertions against this young woman for doing something she had to do to survive in a world that doesn't care about people is tipping me to my BOILING POINT!

People make decisions. Foolish decisions? yes, necessary decisions? yes, could better decisions have been made?, absolutely. However one must try to look in the perspective of the accused, Look in a perspective of being the one who bounced around the country, left a broken home at 17 and found yourself on the streets of New York, broke and left with a singular option. Live like a bum or do something about it.

Now in no way am i condoning her decision to engage in prostitution, but I am not going to say she had that many choices. If anyone should be receiving the vitrol, it should be Gov Spitzer and his willingness to ruin his family life. Ashely shouldn't have to bear an inch of that blame, she was basically doing what she needed to do to survive in a world that prefers you to be defeated.
My main point is, we should all remember that she is a person, with real feelings, goals and essence. We should not place our own insecurites and shortcomings on her to make ourselves look better, because quite frankly, we are not exactly upstanding citizens either.

And if you want to be a bible thumper or moral crusader, may i ask you to review John 8:7. it says "He who is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone" Clean up your life first before you begin to judge others!!!

FERRARO RIDICULOUSO

Gerry Ferraro has officially gone off the deep end!

I like to be neutral in these things and observe issues from both sides of the spectrum. However I have looked at both sides of the spectrum and come to the conclusion, yet again that Gerry Ferraro has gone off the deep end!

To suggest that the reason Senator Obama, may I repeat, United States Senator Barack Obama, has been so succesful in his presidential campaign is due to him being an African American will require "a willing suspension of disbelief" in the words of Hillary Clinton. It is troubling that high ranking officials in the democratic party could willfully engage in overt identity politics for political gain. These kind of divide and conquer politics are not helpful for the party and not helpful for America.

These ridiculous comments should be expected from Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh and not a democrat. If this pattern remains and develops further than what it is right now, then the country should really question the ability of the democratic party to effectively govern this country. The democratic party should not make themselves into as their logo seem to suggest, a party of donkeys.

CLIENT #9

I have tried to refrain from making a commentary on this issue since it broke, but I have now been resigned to at least comment about it. First of all, I would like to say unequivocally that what Governor Spitzer did was asinine and deserving of ridicule. These are very strong words to be leveled on any man but, in my frame of thinking, if you are married to an attractive, well educated woman and have children who support you, it should be a federal crime that you could go out of your way to embarrass them in front of national television.
The idea of the Governer to even think during his sexual escapades that he wouldn't get caught, even though he had made countless enemies is a little bit laughable. Perhaps the most laughable aspect about the whole situation, is having a growm man pay $5,000 an hour for sex! This was what shocked me the most! If he is found guilty of any of the legal charges that could be leveled against him, I would strongly suggest that the prosecutor charge Former Governer Spitzer for being rather daft in financial management. The people of New York should be lucky that this guy is no longer taking care of that state's budget!
But on a more serious note, I really hope that Mrs Spitzer and those children can get through this embarrasment that has been leveled on them by their father. Lets also try to trust the media in respecting their privacy during this most unfortunate circumstance.

The Partisan Era

There was once a time when the union was at war with itself. The south against the north. It was called civil war and what followed it was reconstruction. that was a 150 years ago and 150 years later, we are at the crossroads again.

This time, rather than picking up rifles and declaring war, we have formed singular ideologies and become incompetent. It is the sad extreme of democracy where we develop factions incapable of reaching a compromise, incapable of building a bridge.

The era we live in today is "The Partisan Era". The era in which two parties have declared war on each other. An era in which people deprive themselves of their complete selves by pigeon holing themselves into singular ideologies. It is an era where you are vilified for engaging in multilateral solutions and were ideological independence is called treason.

It is an era were Washington has declared an embargo on bi-partisanship, which has resulted in an inept government, a government were bickering and posturing is more important than results. I am not advocating an end to ideological debate, rather I am proposing a return to ideological compromise. Our leaders must understand that what's at stake is not themselves, its the people. Not their seats in The Hill, but dreams of the masses.

Functionality is the engine of all unions. For a marriage to function, habits must be set aside for a stronger adhesion of the union. We are married to our country. All of us, from civil servants to military servants, from union workers to corporate executives, from the least of us to greatest of us.

We must begin to pratice what we preach. Our preaching of unity to the rest of the world is now looking like hypocrisy. How can we tell Sunnis and Shiites, or Palestine and Israel to come together when we can't even do so ourselves. We know its not easy to disengage from things that have become part of our way of thinking, but it is absolutely essential that we must in order to secure a more perfect union.
